Howth Sunday market
June 9, 2008
Last Sunday we went to Howth (NE of Dublin) in search for great food and good time. You can easily reach Howth by DART (30 minutes journey - 3,80 a return ticket from City Center). We arrived at 2pm but the market was still full on place.
The first stop was the indoor fish market, ’cause we kinda like everything about seafood. We found a great variety (prawns, langustine, tuna, salmon, oysters) but with big prices (in Barcelona, in La Boqueria, we bought fresh prawns for like 8-9 euro per kilo).
Outside the indoor market was……yeah, the outdoor market. Some good selection of ethnic food (German sausages, fried calamari from a Brazilian store, crepes from France, Lebanese and Chinese food) and a few stands with fresh local fruits and vegetables, including some pure 100% squashed apple juice from a local farm.
So, we bought some fried calamari, some crepes and a falafel from the Lebanese guys. After that (oh, and some beers) we climbed a little to the Howth Martello Tower, where we simply stayed on the grass and looked to the bay and yachts .
Great Sunday in Howth!

Your pictures look great here! Did you take them in Beshoffs? I worked there as a waiter a few years ago.
